The
Jackson Hole Trail Ride - Since 1970
The Jackson Hole Trail Ride is a 7-day event in
August. You may bring your own horse or we can arrange rental
horses!
If you closed your eyes and tried to imagine the
perfect Western vacation, you’d probably come pretty close to a
description of the Jackson Hole Trail Ride. It’s a special seven-day
vacation, with five days of riding, from August 3-9 that’s guaranteed
to lead you into some of the prettiest country in the world. The
Jackson Hole Trail Ride has been offered since 1970 and it has become
more popular each year. Many of our people come back year after year.

Saddle Up...
We start your perfect vacation with a get acquainted
party and dinner Sunday evening. Each day you will start with a hearty
western breakfast, then you’ll set out astride your horse or ours, for
a trip into the back country of the Teton wilderness. Each day’s ride
goes into a different area where we’ll provide a sack lunch. One of
those days, you’ll go to the top of the Continental Divide, another to
Holmes Cave, one of the Trail Rides most popular day trips.

Along the way, whatever the destination, you will have the opportunity
to see elk, moose, and deer; just to name a few of the wild animals
that live in Wyoming’s high country. Wildflowers are usually at the
peak of their brilliance in the high country during Trail Ride time.
You’ll return to the base camp each night with an appetite as big as
the country you’ve traveled through. Our Trail Ride Chefs have seen
those kinds of appetites before, and we’ll reward you with some
outstanding meals.
The Ride ends with breakfast on Saturday morning.
Once you’ve joined us on the Jackson Hole Trail Ride, you’ll have fond
memories for years to come.

Horses and Feed
If you have a horse, you’re welcome to bring them.
We’ll supply hay free of charge from Sunday evening through Friday
evening. Base camp is at 9,000 feet so be sure your horse is in good
shape. Nights get cold at that elevation, so you may want to bring a
horse blanket. All horses must meet Wyoming state health and brand
requirements; ask your veterinarian and brand inspector for details.
If you don’t have your own horse, we can make arrangements to supply
one with tack.
Accommodations
Bring your own camper, motor home, pickup, trailer,
tent, or whatever you’re comfortable in. If you don’t have anything of
the sort, we have tents that accommodate two to three people. We do
not have cots. Hot water and showers are available at camp.
Nights at 9,000 feet can get cold, so be sure to bring a warm sleeping
bag, air mattress, and any personal belongings you’ll need for seven
days: clothing, a warm coat, rain gear, and personal bath supplies.
Don’t forget your camera and plenty of film!
